About this demo
What this demo shows
Crewloop and Ember & Frost Climate Co. are fictional. WebCRG built this demo to show what its custom web application development service delivers, in a form you can use. The customers, jobs and technicians are sample data, and your changes are saved only in your browser.
The problem
“We run the business on spreadsheets.”
Every job lives in one place: a board and a searchable list, each job with its customer, technician, date, notes and full history. The old spreadsheet imports in one step, with every row checked first.
The problem
“Off-the-shelf software doesn’t fit how we work.”
The board’s columns are the company’s own stages. Rename them, reorder them, add a new one or remove one — its jobs move where you say — and every screen follows.
The problem
“Our systems don’t talk to each other.”
Invoiced jobs export as a CSV for accounting, the schedule as a calendar file any calendar app can import, and each change of stage records the email the customer would receive.
The problem
The right people see the right things
A manager sees and changes everything. A technician sees only their own jobs, can update them and add notes, but cannot delete, reassign, import or touch billing — and the data layer enforces that, not just the buttons.
The problem
Works on phones
Every screen works on a phone: the board becomes a stage picker with a list, and forms, schedule and job pages fit a small screen.
How it is built
- Next.js and React with TypeScript in strict mode, exported as static files
- One data module that every screen goes through: it validates input, checks the person’s role and records each change in the activity log
- Here the data is kept in the browser; in a real application the same module would call a Node.js API, and the screens would not change
- Spreadsheet import with a CSV parser that handles quoted fields, line breaks and Excel’s byte-order mark
- Unit tests for the rules: permissions, workflow changes, validation, import and exports
